Project Scope: 3D renders of the Kyle Walker 2 signature model. Mostly upper focused with some early work done to help visualize the sole unit design (Not my design).
Tools used: Illustrator/Modo
For me the project started with lineart from the designer and he was wanting some help visualizing the bottom design. The way the waffle cup wrapped in the heel exposing some internal foam was the key. I was able to rely on displacement maps and a stencil to quickly visualize things and get the project moving.
I was able to further refine the visual and bring the quality of the renders up to showcase at an internal design review.
Next was the upper. The visuals below were used to sell the project in at our first line review and pitch things to the regions.
As the shoe moved through the design season the highlighted color way changed so the renders were updated to support that. The tongue detail was a fun excuse to work on my velcro materials and embroidery.
The team also requested some help showcasing some of the internal construction details (shown below).
Finally here were some fun renders of the tooling from the far east. These were .stl files I prepped and materialized to showcase what the look and feel of the bottom would be for the team.
