Skate Outsole Tread Exploration
(pre AVE 2 work)
The goal with this project was to showcase some tools and workflows with the design team to spark some ideas and see if there was any interest in using new tools/processes. What started here would ultimately get used in the AVE 2.
Tools used: Illustrator/Modo/Rhino
This video highlights some distance based logic where the influence point affects the roundness of the diamond as well as the scale. This was helpful for communicating some broad ideas to the design team.
This video showcases some basic circle packing concepts in Grasshopper.
I created a walkthrough of the process for the designer to help them understand how I was able to generate the concepts below.
